Persona, número, modo y tiempo.

Remember that the verbs and subjects must have a simbiotic relationship, i.e., they must
agree semantically.In Spanish, it is usually the verbs that connote what is going on in the
sentence since it is the verb in charge to show whom/what are we talking about.

Examples:
 

  • Marisela habla (verb in singular form because Marisela is one sujbect).
  • Marisela y Santos hablan (verb in plural form since we have two subjects).
  • Marisela habló (tiempo pasado, singular).
  • Marisela y Santos hablaron (tiempo pasado, plural).

  • Exercises: Fill the blank with the verb provided in parenthesis.

    The verb must be conjugated  in the required tense.
